what do u need???

One thing I would like to add is, kids would like to do what they are good at, what make them feel good, what make them proud of themselves ... of course, it would be like icing on the cake if what they achieve and their strong points can please their parents, make their parents be proud of them. However, that may not always be the case.

In your cousin's case, it seems to me there is a gap between her strengths and her parents' expectations. You know, it makes more sense to find a way to build a tower with a solid foundation of one's strengths and interests.

Let's take learning English as an example. As she loves sports, running, jumping, rope skipping ... it gives you a chance to build a bridge between sport and English, you may encourage her to say things about sports in English, like

I ran much faster than she.
I won the first place in the one-hundred-meter race.
I scored 20 points in the basketball game.
Our soccer team won five games in a row.
